Glen From Urban Sprout in South Africa gives us an awesome idea for parents and kids:
“We save all our toilet roll tubes, cardboard boxes, scrap paper, plastic, cans and glass bottles in our recycling cupboard in our kitchen. The cupboard contains four large boxes 1-plastic 2-tin & glass 3-paper 4-cardboard. Our son regularly raids these boxes for items to turn into his own creations.
A bit of project glue, some watercolour paint, elastic bands and some imagination are all you need. Trash is transformed into temporary play-things and when they’re forgotten and discarded they can go back into the recycle box. Towers, cars, rockets and weird creatures can easily be made from household detritus.”
