(31) She Makes Homemade Confetti and Does Creative Play With Recycled Items!

We’ve been really inspired with the many creative and fun suggestions of how recycling can be brought into the classroom to the delight of the young students.  Jenna writes:

“My class does not have recycling offered at school but I take newspapers and other paper recyclables home to recycle at my house.  I even go through the “garbage” to find other uses for the cardboard boxes.  I keep all paper for scrap paper for the children to cut up in our sand/water table.  The children shred it to little pieces and then I use the cut up paper as confetti for art projects.  I have also worked with a company that set up a tree planting on Arbor Day.  We talk about the importance of trees and the children took on the responsibility of taking care of their tree.

What a beautiful way to teach these values to our the new stewards of the Earth!
