(1) She Writes Poems to Raise Conciousness

Diane, a talented massage therapist and reflexologist from Bucks County, PA was thinking green long before it was fashionable.  How much do we use… how are things over-packaged…What can people do about it?

She also writes poetry and this one is about reflecting on the size of our carbon footprint even when we recycle. The poem asks the question… Is there possibly a way to use or need less to begin with?

We Recycle
It’s trash day
in the neighborhood
Super-sized bins
Are rolled out
To the street
Recycling, neatly separated
Sits close by

We feel good
We recycle

Our single serving
Our take-out containers
And disposals

Wipe and toss
Toss and go

By sunset
The trash is gone

Out of sight
Out of mind

Are we
Out of our minds

Believing we are walking
Lightly on this earth

How heavy is your footprint?
